Philip Stanton (Columbus, Ohio, USA, 1962) is a visual artist, painter, and illustrator with international reach. He has lived and worked in Barcelona since 1988, a city that has profoundly influenced his artistic language, characterized by the expressive use of color, contemporary figuration, and a direct and recognizable visual narrative.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Rollins College (Florida) and a Master of Fine Arts in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York, Stanton has developed a diverse career encompassing painting, illustration, large-format urban projects, illustrated books, set designs, and visual campaigns.
He is the director of Stanton Studio, through which he has completed projects for cultural institutions, publishers, and international brands, as well as artistic interventions in public spaces. His work has been exhibited and published in numerous countries, solidifying a personal and easily identifiable style.
In parallel with his artistic production, he is an illustration professor at EINA and BAU schools in Barcelona, where he has combined professional practice with teaching for over two decades.
Philip Stanton's works reflect a playful and poetic view of everyday reality, inviting the viewer to emotionally connect with images that combine formal simplicity and conceptual depth.
